Supported Employment

Supported Employment is a unique employment service available to individuals who have the most significant disabilities and require ongoing support services to succeed in a competitive employment environment. Vocational Rehab (VR) funds Supported Employment in a variety of business environments for anyone requiring intensive employment support, including initial placement and stabilization in the workplace. Supported Employment offers continuing assistance from an employment specialist to maintain long-term employment for individuals who have previously been unable to succeed in traditional employment.

Your Path To Employment Starts Here

Step 1:

Enrollment

To begin utilizing employment services offered by Creative Action, Inc., customers need to first register with Vocational Rehabilitation. Creative Action can support you in the enrollment process by submitting the electronic application on your behalf.Upon receiving your application, we will initiate the processing procedure and contact you when it is time to schedule a meeting for the subsequent stages.

Eligibility

If you have a disability and aspire to join the workforce, you might qualify for our services. Your Creative Services counselor will assist you in understanding how your disability impacts your job prospects and retention. To aid your counselor in making an informed decision, you can provide relevant information from doctors, schools, previous jobs, or individuals familiar with your situation.

Step 2:

Decision

Creative Action, Inc thoroughly reviews the specific circumstances of each individual to assess eligibility, as everyone possesses a distinct set of factors. The duration of this evaluation may vary depending on the situation, thus it is important to maintain open communication with your counselor regarding their decision-making process. Timely submission of the requested documents and paperwork will help accelerate the progress of your case, enabling the counselor to expedite the process.

Step 3:

Plan

Your dedicated counselor from Creative Action, Inc. will assist you in crafting a personalized Plan for Employment. This plan will encompass a mutually agreed-upon job goal, the services you will receive, preparations to be made for entering the workforce, and, if applicable, the financial contribution you may need to make for availing the services.

Step 4:

Vendor Referral

At Creative Action, Inc., we provide a comprehensive range of services delivered by both our dedicated counselors and trusted vendors. Our organization is designed as a convenient one-stop-shop, offering a diverse array of adult employment services, youth programs, employability trainings, paid work experience opportunities, and various assessments. These services are aimed at empowering our customers to attain long-lasting independence by establishing a fulfilling and sustainable career path.

Step 5:

Employment Services

If you decide to utilize Creative Action, Inc as your service provider, your counselor will send us a referral. Once we receive the referral from your counselor, we can start providing you with employment services. You will be contacted for an intake session, during which you can have a discussion with your Creative Action, Inc counselor about your job goals and the plan of action moving forward.
Defining success varies for each person. As an adult who has been employed for a period of 3-5 months, you will engage in a conversation with your counselor to determine the appropriate closure of your case with Creative Action, Inc. If you are confident in your ability to sustain your job without additional support, you have the option to receive ongoing services until you feel prepared to transition into the adult program and establish a long-term career.
